Reaching for the Stars

This art piece was created by Heather W. of Brien McMahon High School, Norwalk, CT USA, while she was participating in the ArtLink program.

She describes her art work: “This piece shows the bond that a son and father have. In my piece I want to show the viewers that the father lifts the son up to the sky to reach for the shooting star. By the father lifting the boy up he can feel enormous to the normal size he is, and can interact with the stars at a better view. I chose this scene, because I love the bonds young children and parents have. I wanted to draw something that represents this, because when children become teens they tend to lose that bond with their parents.” Heather shares her dreams and hopes: “… to get into the college of [her] dreams and achieve in [her] future years.”
